1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 tsp kosher salt
1 package au-jus mix
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon thyme (dried)
3-4 lbs of sirloin or chuck roast
Directions
In a large pot or crockpot add you roast and cover with water just until the roast is covered.
Add in the au-jus packet and seasoning
Give it a little mix.
Allow to simmer on medium low heat and cover for at least 2 hours. Now go and do something while it cooks. I love meals that simmer for a long time and don’t need baby sitting.
After two hours you’ll need to check on the roast and do a fork test to see if it starts to shred. If it does your ready to make the sandwiches!
If not continue to cook at 30 min increments. P.S your house will smell amazing.
Once the roast is tender enough to shred with a fork you’ll transfer it to a plate and shred it up.
Place the shredded meat back into the pot it was cooking in with all those juices, while you get your rolls ready ! This is what they call a juicy beef yum 😋
Time to make the sandwich!
Simply place your meat on your roll top with giardiniera peppers and dig in ! Your gonna need extra napkins!
And there you have it. Juicy Italian beef sandwiches 🤤
